From 22 to 26 October 2025, Budapest once again welcomed the world for the 48th International Budapest Bridge Festival—a beloved tradition that brought together players from 15 countries across 4 continents. Known for its friendly atmosphere, international diversity, and competitive excellence, the festival continued a proud legacy that has made it one of Europe’s standout open bridge events.
The International Budapest Bridge Festival (IBBF) has been run on LoveBridge One since 2019, making it the earliest major tournament in Europe to adopt full digital bidding and cardplay. Over the past six years, the festival has evolved into a showcase of how seamlessly bridge and modern technology can blend.
The IBBF is now widely recognized for its digital-first approach, and this year was no exception.
For the seventh consecutive edition, every table in every event used LoveBridge One, providing:
- complete digital bidding and cardplay,
- automatic and perfectly accurate scoring,
- instant availability of hand records, and
- a calm, card-free environment that players have come to love.
What began as an innovative step in 2019 has become an identity.
The Budapest Festival is today one of the world leaders in full-tablet bridge organization.
The 2025 festival brought together players from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, creating a vivid mosaic of bridge cultures and styles. This international blend is one of the IBBF’s hallmarks: it remains competitive enough for top-level pairs and teams, but warm and inclusive enough to attract enthusiastic club players and social travellers.
The city of Budapest itself added its timeless charm. Participants enjoyed the historic beauty of the Danube, the architecture of both Buda and Pest, and the warm hospitality that defines Hungarian bridge culture.
The 48th International Budapest Bridge Festival highlighted how far the event has come since its first LoveBridge edition in 2019. What started as a pioneering initiative has grown into a world-class model of digital tournament organization.
As the festival prepares for its 49th year, the commitment to LoveBridge One remains stronger than ever. Players and organizers alike praised how digital play enhances both the competitive quality and the overall experience.
